Hi, I’m Kirsten! Welcome to my blog where I share my stories and ideas about motherhood, family, home, and things I love like Disney and crafting. I’m married to my best friend Rich who I’ve know since I was 14, and am a mom to one incredible little human, our daughter Rowan. We live together with our two beagles (Harley and Piper) in Grimsby, Ontario.
In October 2016 I left my career in Human Resources to become a stay-at-home-mom. We tried for years to start our family (and were ultimately successful with IVF) so I was compelled to be the primary caregiver for our kids. Maybe one day I’ll return to the corporate world, but for now I am loving #momlife and have a dream to own my own business – I’m just not sure doing what yet!
My interest in fertility, pregnancy, and home birth stems from personal experience. After conceiving Rowan through IVF and being hospitalized due to OHSS (Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome), I had enough of doctors and medicine controlling my pregnancy. I focused on keeping a mindset of health and enjoyed an easy pregnancy. This lead us to try for a home birth and it was an incredible experience – I can’t imagine doing it any other way!
We are about to start IVF to try for baby #2 and I will be sharing my experiences along the way.
Disney, crafting, and tea make me smile and I would live at the Magic Kingdom if I could. I can often be found knitting or working on a DIY project around the house with a tea latte in my hand.
